Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access (IDIA) is a Non-Profit Organization which was founded in 2010 by Late Prof. (Dr.) Shamnad Basheer with a vision of transforming lives and breaking the barriers of privilege. The Organization was started from just one law school in Kolkata and is active in almost all states pan-India today. IDIA runs on the backbone of its student initiative and endeavors to impact underprivileged students who lack nothing but just need an opportunity which is often lost with the birth lottery. It is exactly that opportunity which IDIA envisages to provide by its multi-fold working levels. Initially student volunteers identify areas such as schools, orphanages, and villages where awareness about legal education is not prominent. We then sensitize these students to the power of law and the countless opportunities and career options available. The interested students write our entrance test and if selected become trainees who undergo free training including coaching from leading coaching institutions that enables them to prepare and ace the entrance exam. Each trainee is assigned mentors who guide, advice and take care of the trainees every need which can help them with the preparation. Once the trainees get into law schools, they become IDIA Scholars and IDIA supports their legal education and well-being with our Scholar Development Programme where we nurture the Scholars and help them navigate through their law school journey. The aim of IDIA is as simple as it can be – to help increase diversity in the legal sphere by increasing access to the ones who were not even aware of the existence of a legal sphere.

PHIN is an organization which has been working for the development of Hearing Impaired persons in the field of Education, health, human rights and Job oriented training programs since 2007. Apart from this we have been giving training to the parents on sign language.
